Ingredients

  • Pre-cooked, hand-carved turkey breast strips

  • ½ large onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

  • 4 bakery hoagie/sub rolls

  • 4 slices provolone cheese (Or any cheese you prefer - Swiss or American are great alternatives to Provalone)

Instructions

This recipe is ideal for those using turkey breast that has already been oven roasted and sliced.

If you only have uncooked turkey breast to work with, no problem. Simply pan fry the turkey breast strips in a pan, lightly but evenly coated with olive oil, over medium for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown on the outside, and white on the inside.

Once you have your baked or pan-cooked turkey breast strips, you're ready to proceed.

1.) Begin by heating a large pan over medium heat on the stove. Add the oil to the pan and when the oil is hot, add the onion and saute until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

2.) Return turkey to the pan and toss with the onions and peppers.

3.) Split the buns and place on a sheet pan. Top each with a fourth of the turkey and peppers followed by sliced cheese.

4.) Broil for 2-3 minutes, or until cheese just melts. Be sure to keep a visual check on them, as the broiler will over-char the rolls if left just seconds too long.

5.) Remove from the oven and serve immediately.
